Service Projects and Projects Supported

Each year the Kiwanis Club of Northwest Austin sells peaches to raise funds in support of various community projects and charitable activities. We are proud of the support that the people of Austin give us by purchasing our peaches. We are equally proud of the charitable and other community activities that we are involved with and providing $15,000 of contributions.

Here are our current projects:

  • Adventures of Lifetime Learning – helps youth and adults with special needs to develop lifelong independence.
  • Assistance League – assistance to needy children (and adults), clothing for needy students, classroom supplies, Toy Cart at Dell Children’s hospital, and scholarships.
  • Austin Child Guidance Center – provides counseling for children/families with behavioral issues.
  • Comfort Crew – helps military families and children to cope with deployments, injury, death, and separation.
  • Capital City Village – Volunteer service to allow seniors to stay in their homes.
  • CKI of UT – College students learning and supporting Kiwanis missions and activities.
  • Down Home Ranch – provide both financial and volunteer support of activities for a residential program and camping opportunities for young persons with disabilities.
  • Harley’s Wallet– Provides assistance to families of children with cancer.
  • Hope Austin – Provides meals for needy school children.
  • K Santa – provide Christmas food and gifts for needy families.
  • Kiwanis Children Fund – Grants scholarships and supports youth programs.
  • Key Clubs of Anderson High, Cedar Park HS, and Visti Ridge HS – High school students learning and supporting Kiwanis missions and service.
  • Libraries of Love – establishes libraries in Uganda and Kenya.
  • Missy Project– Promotes awareness and research of Brain Aneurysm Disease, BAD.
  • Scholarships – Key Club Seniors at Anderson, Cedar Park, and Vista Ridge High Schools. .
  • Texas Oklahoma Kiwanis Foundation – support scholarships for young people, tornado disaster relief.
  • Contributions to good causes – Capital Area Food Bank, Salvation Army, Water to Thrive, and others.
  • Regional, National & International Kiwanis Projects – contribute to cooperative Kiwanis efforts in support of worthy causes.
